Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello, I recently decided to sell my Laptop as it didn't get enough use. And up until the night before it was due to be sold it had worked perfectly.
The problems started when I attempted to do a factory reset/ removing all my files etc. I followed all on screen instructions and it froze at about 64% then I got an error message (failed due to?)
Since this happened, every time I hit the Power button the laptop fires up and I get the hp logo, (no writing's) then the screen goes black and sounds like it's shutting down But then the logo reappears. (Endless loop).

Please note that I have been able to run quick test and advanced test on the laptop and everything has PASSED. Although the battery says Ok (0).

Any ideas as to what went wrong or how to fix?

Greetings @HelpMePlease46

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your computer not booting to the desktop, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Do you have the recovery kit created on your computer?

Have you tried a BIOS recovery on your computer?

Please disconnect any devices connected to your computer.

If you have any USB or DVD in the computer, please disconnect it.

Perform a power reset on the computer. Click here for assistance.

Disconnect the adapter, remove the battery (if it can be removed)

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain the static in the computer.

Connect the adapter and battery to the computer. (if removed.)

Turn the computer ON while holding the Win + B key. (hold these 2 keys for more than 10 seconds, let go of the power button alone)

Refer to this HP Article to know more about BIOS recovery.

If rolling back BIOS does not work, try again.

If the issue persists, as you are able to run System test, recommend you boot the computer to BIOS by tapping F10 repeated on startup.

Restore BIOS to defaults.

Save and Exit BIOS.

Shut down your computer.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the computer On and keep tapping F11 repeatedly on startup to enter recovery manager.

Perform a recovery again. Click here for assistance.

If the issue persists, perform a recovery using the recovery kit created on the computer.

If you do not have a recovery kit, please contact our phone support team to get a copy of the recovery kit meant for your computer.

Keep me posted.
