The diagnostic indicates a battery problem.  The laptop stopped accepting a charge after the HDD was pulled and reinstalled.  That required the battery to be removed and put back in.

Failure ID: MAJFWC-AR7D1M-MFGJLK-C08903

PRODUCT ID: G8R95AV

Machine runs fine as long as I'm plugged in.

Any way to test the battery?  If it's the charging circuitry, I don't want a second battery laying around.

Thanks Much!

Ron

I see that the diagnostic, 2nd page, stated the first battery cell was defective.  3 others are ok.  So, a new battery is required.

Thanks,

Ron

@RonOh,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Based on your laptop's specs, the part number for a replacement battery is: 717376-001 "Battery (Primary) - 3-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 4.5Ah, 50Wh (CM03XL)".

You can purchase a quality CM03XL replacement battery online, such as this Amazon purchase example: Amazon.com: YUERYE CM03 CM03XL Laptop Battery Compatible with HP EliteBook 840 845 850 855 740 745 7....

Kind Regards,
