HP 15bs
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I added a 4 GB memory dimm of the exact same specs as the original dimm, resulting in blue screens of death. Testing results; both dimms separately tested each in bank 1; no errors. Extensive memory Testing them together results in a failed result;




Who can help? Bank 2 broken or compatibility issues?

A memory module (RAM) is not working and may need to be replaced. Remove any added memory and re-test.

Supports up to 16 GB DDR4-2400 of system RAM in the following configurations:

  • 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)
  • 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)
  • 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)
  • 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)
  • 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1)

The memory modules below are compatible with your computer:

  • 8-GB ; Spare part number: 862398-855.
  • 4-GB ; Spare part number: 862397-855.
  • 2-GB ; Spare part number: 864271-855.

The procedure for replacing the memory module can be found in the HP manual below on pages 50 and 51.
