Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Havent used in about year or so, started up(loaded slow as expected)got through putting in password,got to home screen an was unable to do anything from there. ran a system check,  came up with a Failure ID PU7L31-7T8A6X-MFPWMF-60XN03 trying to figure out what is

Hi:

 

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced with a new one, and the operating system reinstalled.

 

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 by making installation media using the Media creation tool at the link below.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

In very rare circumstances, you may be able to reinstall W10 on the bad hard drive and it may work for a while, so you can try that first before replacing it.

 

If it won't install, then you will need to replace the drive.
