HP ENVY 15-u011dx x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy 15 and the computer fan starts running while the computer is just sitting there idle.

I haven't connected any external mouse so the problem is not a key being pressed or the mouse moved.

Every time I have to force shutdown by pressing the power button to turn the fan off.

I just bought this as a used laptop and then did the windows reset on the laptop. It has windows 10 installed

Hello
you say you did the reset of windows so it was working?
Then your problem appeared?
the reset did not work, windows does not start anymore or it starts finally, I did not understand?

I don't know if the problem was there before.

The reset apparently worked and windows does start. The computer works perfectly.

Just sometimes while the computer is asleep or shutdown, fan suddenly starts running while the lid is closed

I then have to press the power button to shutdown the fan.

check and update the drivers.
If that doesn't change anything as a last resort, try the bios
I want to warn you that it is not without risk, if the update does not work normally, the computer could be unusable!
it's up to you to see if you try or not!
