When using my laptop I noticed an electrical burning smell right before the screen turned black and shut off. The laptop was resting on my legs and the back portion got extremely hot to the point my skin turned pink. After removing the cover I found a noticeable burned and charred area on the motherboard. In researching this issue, it appears this is a documented and known issue with this particular model and year (2015). I am very upset HP never informed me of this issue that could have caused serious damage and is a fire risk. I would appreciate a HP representative to contact me immediately.
