I recently received a fan error and post would notify me of this which I would continue by pressing enter. This went on for about 6 months and there were no other issues, I would hear the fan running as well so I figured it was a faulty sensor. About 2 weeks ago I started being prompted for an administrative or power on password which I never set. I am no longer able to get into the operating system (Windows 10 pro 64bit) nor can I access the bios. I have attempted to reset the bios by unplugging the battery and this prompted a bios recovery, however, on recovery completion the black screen with a blue prompt for password reoccurred. I have attempted to recover/reset the bios with the Win + B key method, and this did not remove the administrative password.
I also see both fans spin so I do not think the fans are the issue at this point.
After three unsuccessful attempts, it gives me a recovery option: [ System SN: [edited] ]
