I am attempting to install a hardware and BIOS update through HP image assistant, but it asks for a BIOS password that I cannot figure out for the life of me. HP support will not reset them anymore per security reasons, and the company I bought the laptop from claims they do not put BIOS passwords on their computers before sale.
I did a Windows recovery about a year and a half ago and I vaguely remember dealing with the boot menu and BIOS, so I might have set one and did not write it down (like a moron).
I've seen on some threads that you can remove the CMOS/RTC Battery to reset the BIOS password, but I cannot find it. In my tablet and HP support was less than helpful on that as well.
Any advice or help would be fantastic. Thanks in advance
