Hi all. I having a few issues with my current everyday laptop pc. First be it that I do not know/forgotten my bios password. I have tried removing the cmos battery method to no avail as well as trying to use the bios master password from the code I get from 3 failed attempts to log into the bios. I have used the code it gives me Everytime it's the same denial code. And the supposed password dose not work. I do believe the os is corrupted with a mbr boot sector virus and I have no admin privileges to my registry service cmd prompt ect. I'm unsure if I can Boot into safe boot as I can't run msconfig. It denys me there. I don't know if the bios is infected. I took it to a computer shop the other day and they said they where unable to diagnose it because they couldn't get into my bios.... Go figure. But I am planning on buying a SSD and swapping it out for the mechanical drive. I'm just worried that sdd will be a waste of money because the virus is in my bios and will just mess up the sdd even with a fresh install of windows 10. Ethier way I need access to my bios as well. Hopefully someone can help me with this crap 😞 thank you!

Unlike with desktops, removing the CMOS battery on laptops does NOT reset any existing BIOS password.
