Hi,

At the password screen, hit enter 3 times.

If you receive an 8 digit 'halt code', post back with this code.

If you don't receive a halt code, you will need to Contact HP Business support - they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

You can contact HP Business Support in your country via

or

Hi,

Unfortunately, that leaves the HP option as your best bet - there are no 3rd party tools that will work for this Model and the only alternative to requesting a smc from Business Support would be to replace the bios chip.

Just to note, if you do intend to go the HP route, don't try removing the rtc battery.  It won't remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as smc files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the smc will cause it to fail.

Regards,
