Hey, few days ago, let’s say on a Tuesday, I wanted to watch a video on the big screen for me and my family and I plugged in the hdmi cord. Note that this is The same HDMI cord I’ve been using to watch movies with. My laptop was working just fine until I plugged the HDMI cable to the TV and then out of nowhere the computer screen just cut off!!! That NEVER happened before. The only light I can see on there is the LED light telling me that the laptop is on or off and the battery AC adapter. I don’t know whether or not to say that the thing still works because every time I turn it on, I hear no fans, I don’t see no boot up screen, but I do however see the LED light saying that it’s on. Is it on hibernate or something because I literally tried everything. From hard reset, and from the hold windows + B + POWER key to reaseting the modules. Nothing worked. Why is it acting like it’s dead? I’ve been trying to look up something on the web and I bet no one had a problem like this, if they did, why didn’t they show it so someone would have an input on it?! Anyways, I thought maybe it was the hdmi cable, which I couldn’t figure out cuz I’ve always used that cable before and no problem. Maybe it could I’m hoping it would be the motherboard cuz so far I got nothing and I only had this baby for three years!!!

Hi
I am a little wary of asking you to repeat the same keystrokes, but I'll do it...
Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat
Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
Windows Logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B
(This key sequence actually restarts you graphics driver (W10 only).)
If you’re using multiple displays, try projecting video to a different monitor.
Press the Windows Logo key + P, select a display, and then press Enter.

Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.
Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.
The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically. Follow any on-screen prompts to continue the startup to complete the recovery. HP BIOS Update recovery in progress
If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next step to install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website.
If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the button for only 2 to 3 seconds.
