Hi @Tinejhgu,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop might have a hardware issue, potentially with the internal components like the power button, battery, or motherboard. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to diagnose and possibly fix the issue.
Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
- Disconnect the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and try to turn on the laptop.
Check for Indicator Lights:
- Plug in the charger and check for any indicator lights on the laptop (such as the charging light). If there's no light, there might be an issue with the charger or charging port.
Battery Removal (if applicable):
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out, wait a few minutes, then reinsert it and try to power on the laptop.
Power Supply Check:
- Ensure that the charger and power outlet are working properly. Try a different power outlet or charger if possible.
Inspect for Physical Damage:
- Since you mentioned that pressure or impact can cause issues, inspect the laptop for any visible signs of physical damage. Loose or damaged internal components can cause power issues.
Reseat RAM and Storage:
- If you're comfortable opening your laptop, reseat the RAM and storage drive. Loose connections can sometimes cause power issues.
External Display Test:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor to check if the issue is with the display.
BIOS/UEFI Reset:
- If your laptop has a pinhole reset (usually marked with a reset symbol), use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
