Hi @lucius14,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Pavilion g6-1355el is stuck on a black screen with a blinking Caps Lock LED (5 times), indicating a BIOS corruption or failure. Let's go through some steps to address this issue:

Identify the Exact Model

The model number "g6-1355el" suggests it's part of the HP Pavilion g6 series. However, HP's official support site doesn't list this exact model. It's possible that the "el" suffix denotes a regional variant.

To confirm the exact model, check the bottom of your laptop for a product number or serial number. This information can help in identifying the correct BIOS update.

Access HP Support

Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Enter your laptop's serial number or product number to find the appropriate drivers and BIOS updates.

Download the BIOS Update

Once you've identified your exact model, download the latest BIOS update available.

Ensure that the BIOS update matches your laptop's hardware specifications to avoid further issues.

Create a Bootable USB Drive

Use a working computer to create a bootable USB drive with the downloaded BIOS update. HP provides instructions on how to do this on their support site.

Perform a BIOS Recovery

Insert the bootable USB drive into your laptop.

Power on the laptop and immediately press the Windows + B keys simultaneously.

Hold the keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

Follow the on-screen instructions to recover or update the BIOS.

I hope this helps.

I already tried to search in the hp support page by entering serial Number of the laptop but i am redirected to another laptop that Is not my model.

In particular, I am redirected to the page of this other laptop:

HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh0001la (30A60LA)

Hi @lucius14,

Thank you for the response.

Since your notebook shows the 5-blink Caps Lock error, you may need to perform a BIOS recovery:

On another PC, download the correct BIOS file and create a USB recovery stick using the HP tool.

Insert it into your Pavilion g6.

Hold Windows + B while powering on until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

Important: Make sure you download the Intel-based BIOS (not AMD) to match your hardware. Using the wrong file can cause further issues.

I hope this helps.

Sorry but as i described in the previous answer, my problem Is not the procedure to recovery BIOS, but the problem Is that i can't find correct BIOS in the HP support center. When i search for BIOS download by inserting serial Number, i am redirected to another notebook that Is not mine.

Can you post here link to download the correct BIOS?
