randomly when i was playing games on my laptop the screen glitched out and i manually shut the laptop off. After booting it back up, it booted up normally for a couple seconds before doing the same thing it did before, I force shut off again. This time, though, the laptop doesn't turn on at all. When booted up, the caps lock key flashes and after a few minutes, the fan even starts to spin. But after a couple minutes it shuts off by itself. I removed the ram sticks since I thought that was the reason, but even after removing the ram it did the same thing. Can anyone help me with this? It's been like this for months.

Welcome to our User Forum!
Please see the following link, as the flashing caps lock may be the key to tell us what's wrong: HP Caps Lock Blink Codes 2022 【Fix Error】 - TVC (topvinylcutters.com).

By looking at the website it stated that 3 longs 2 Short indicates that timing out of the fixed controller while waiting for the BIOS to be back from system board initialization. To put it simply, it means system board failure on the system. You can try to turn the BIOS to default to check if this can help fix the problem.
I don't know what any of this means, but at least we found a possible solution. Thank you for that.

Yes, I was afraid it might a system board failure of one variety or another. In a worse-case scenario, that could mean you may have to replace your motherboard. That would suck royally. Because that would be an expensive fix. The cheapest replacement motherboard (HP p/n: M04832-601 -but you'll have to verify that) I was able to locate would set you back $305 via eBay: HP 16-A0032DX Motherboard GTX 1060 Ti 6GB i5-10300H 2.5GHZ M04832-601 Grade B 5056570087816 | eBay.
However, let's not get ahead of ourselves.
So, let's do a so-called "hard reset" on your HP Pavilion 16-A0032dx.
What is a hard reset?
A hard reset, also known amongst computer nerds as a power reset, refers to the action of clearing all information from the computer's memory.
Since you encountered one of these problems: Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up, I would recommend a power reset/hard reset.
Does a hard reset erase everything on your laptop? No. It only removes the memory data, which means your personal data will be kept intact.
At this point in time, since I am but a fellow HP Forum member and not representing or paid by HP in any way, I'm supposed to add this disclaimer: follow these steps at your own risk/volition. But if the issue as you experienced happened to me, I would follow the exact same steps.
So, without further ado, here are the steps to take to hard reset your HP laptop:
1.) Make sure all the peripheral devices (including USB drive, external display, printer, and even power supply) are disconnected or removed.
2.) Power down your HP laptop.
3.) Turn it over & look for the battery compartment cover.
4.) Remove the screws with the screwdriver to take off the cover.
5.) Take out the battery gently.
6.) Press & hold the Power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge.
7.) Insert the battery correctly -> put back the cover -> tighten the screws.
8.) Press the Power button to reboot HP laptop.
9.) Select Start Windows Normally & hit Enter if you see a startup menu.
10.) Reconnect the peripheral devices to HP laptop one by one after successful startup.
If this doesn't work, please follow this watchable HP video tutorial how to restore (reset) your BIOS: Restore the BIOS on HP Computers with a Key Press Combination | HP Computers | @HPSupport - YouTube.
Hope this was helpful.

sorry @NonSequitur777
I allow myself to answer here, because if we can avoid replacing the motherboard, and avoid trying to modify the bios, which is risky!
@hypeyourmom665 you say it's 3 long and 2 short!
you said you removed the memory and the same problem
Except according to HP documents, this may correspond to a memory problem
so if you only have one module, replace it, it will still be cheaper than buying a motherboard
and if it doesn't work, then you can send it back or reuse it!
Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code
The red light blinks three times, and then two, short white light blinks
This condition indicates a potential memory failure.
