Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I press shut down on my laptop, it says shutting down but then changes to "Getting windows ready. Don't turn off your computer." The first time, it took about 1.5 hours for it to turn off. The second time, there was an update so I thought it was normal, but the third time, there was another update on the same day as the second shut down. I have had this laptop for 6-7 months and have seen nothing like this happen until 2 days ago. So my overall question is if the getting windows ready prompt is normal now and if getting two updates in one day is normal.

Edit: I realized that my settings were set to delay updates by seven days so I did not get the two updates until today.

MS issues its Windows Update on "patch Tuesday" of every week.  So, most folks get those updates that day or the next.

It's not unusual for two or more updates to come out the same day -- including a feature update, a security fix, and a .net update, and sometimes, a servicing stack update.
