Probook 430 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings,

Cannot get inside BIOS, administration password required. Warranty ended in 2016, the password was set by our administrator, but the guy left the company a few years ago and do not remember BIOS password.

I've added a second drive and willing to configure boot priority, plus as I found out that bios firmware is way outdated. For both operations I need a password, which I do not know.  At this moment I can boot to Windows10 and F9 (Select bootable device for current booting).

What I already tried:
1. Typing 3-5 times wrong password to get master password code (no code).
2. Contacting HP Bussiness support to get SMC.bin file (they do not provide them any longer). They gave the only option to contact a local service provider to change the motherboard (x3 cost of the laptop now).

3. Removing the CMOS battery does not work for this model.

4. Some USB bootable 'software' is not working with this particular notebook model or maybe I failed to find right one.
5. Contacted the person who set that password (he do not remember/gives care).

Please help! I ran out of ideas =(

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That is the only way it could be done.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with providing unlock codes, etc., to clear BIOS passwords. Rule 4.d...
