Purchased the above-mentioned laptop at Walmart about two weeks ago. Replaced hard drive with SSD and have had nothing but problems since. Reinstalled Win10 and the unit locks up around 2-3 minutes into booting. I get everything from blue screen with clock issues message to outright lock-up. Have installed all of the latest drivers from HP and still the problem prevails. Can't install latest BIOS upgrade. Have message on that here. Anyone else having problems with this laptop series? Any workaround suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

If the problems started after installing the SSD it could actually be a faulty drive. Not all that uncommon to receive a faulty drive.
Did you install Windows 10 using HP Recovery Media made while original drive was installed- or using plain Windows 10 installation? Sometimes that makes a difference. While many can do a clean install and have good results I have seen some models that just do not work well unless installed using HP Recovery Media.
What happens when you try to update BIOS? Are you downloading the BIOS update from your Support page?

The drive is fully functional, without problem. After a few rebuilds of the OS, I've determined the problem is somewhere in the wireless hardware, possibly my HP Envy, possibly router and/or NIC. I manually disconnected all wireless activity and the unit remains functional. Within a short time after connecting to the internet, the unit locks. You also replied to a previous post on updating the BIOS, which I did. Hopefully that will resolve the problem. No news is good news.
Thanks!
