This may be the wrong board, if it is, I am sorry.

My Grandpa gave me his laptop to look at, he said that is has been working fine untill one day he couldn't turn it on.

The LED where you plug in the power supply is white, then quickly turns orange. There is no blinking. He is using a aftermarket power supply, the brand is PWR+.  I checked with a multimeter and the voltage seems correct (19.80V DC).

What I have tried:

  • Clear CMOS
  • Test continuity on power button ribbon cable
  • Hold power button 30sec
  • Remove battery and hold power button

When the battery isn't in the laptop and I plug it in, the LED where you plug in the power supply is solid white.

Nothing turns on. Fan doesn't spin, Hard Drive and power LEDs don't light, no lights on the keyboard change, and the LED on the power button doesn't change, and the hard drive does not initialize.

Because of this, the laptop won't boot. The screen does not change. The only sign of life is the LED where you plug in the power supply.

Is there more debugging I can do? Or, from what I provided can anyone seem to tell where the issue could be coming from?

Thanks!
