I have a HP 630
The notebook has stopped working. The Caps Lock key LED flashes slowly, the WiFi LED is on too. I have tried the Window Key+B and the alternative V key technique of BIOS recovery. I've done the power off, battery out etc method of a restart.
I have also created a HP_TOOLS boot USB with the necessary files but still nothing happens. Clearly something deeper has gone wrong.
I have read many other entries where users got going again but none of their actions have recovered my notebook.
It was upgraded to Windows 10 last year and has run OK. Recently after a clean of the CPU fan the screen started showing some vertical lines in any large areas of light blue. Red speckles began to appear in dark areas as well. The colour. brightness and contrast controls in Settings did not get rid of these. That was before the breakdown.
Can anyone help?

Most likely, the PC is experiencing a major hardware failure -- this is especially true if the CapsLock key is blinking.
To find out the problem, you would need to run hardware diagnostics by pressing the Esc key repeatedly and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, select Diagnostics (usually F2) and let it run.
If you can not do that, or if that does not work, then there is NOTHING more you can do by yourself -- and there is NOTHING we can do because we have no way of accessing your PC from here to run diagnostics or repair hardware.
You will need to have the PC physically examined in a service facility by folks that can run their own diagnostics to determine what is wrong with it.
Since your PC is no longer under warranty, then it will cost you up front to have HP examine your PC. If you want to do that, you will have to contact an HP Repair or Service Center to see if they can examine the PC to determine the cause(s) of the problems, if it can be repaired, and an estimate of the repair costs.

Thanks for your response. I came to the same conclusion. Since there is no activity at all Esc will not and does not work. I agree it isn't worth repairing and I have moved on to a replacement.
Thanks again
