Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have an HP 655 notebook running Win 7. It is switching on but the screen remain black with fans running. Caps lock is blinking twice which is pointing toward Bios corruption. How do I restore/recover my Bios and may you please direct me to the website where I can get the recovery file.

Below is the link to the BIOS file F.27 for your model with W7 32 bit.

The release notes for F.27.

The F.27 file contains HP BIOS flash utility (InsideFlash) which needs to be run from within Windows and doesn't provide a way to recover the BIOS with a recovery usb drive. So basically, you can't recover the BIOS, as you can't boot into Windows.

You can possibly find a DOS utility and copy the InsideFlash and a BIOS .bin file to it and boot the system into the DOS for a BIOS recovery. I don't know if the InsideFlash works in the DOS environment, but I can't come up with any other way.

Use Google AI or ChatGPT to find a DOS utility.
