Try running diagnostics
Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.
You should see an image like the following.
If you can pass disk and memory diagnostics then go into the BIOS setup and press the function key that set BIOS defaults.
Make sure the date and time are correct, and save settings when you exit.
