HP Chromebook 11A G8
Chrome OS

We ordered 75 of these machines and I have opened about 10 so far.  Out of those 10 I have had 4 that keep rebooting no matter what.  Only get enough time to log in and less than a min later its rebooting.  Powerwashed the machine, removed the charger plug, put the charger plug back in and nothing is helping these machines.  Is there something that I can do here without having to send it in?  I have too many students needing these machines.

Thanks in advance

Tami

I just did a test and logged in as guest.  It has not shut down one bit.  It has to be profile specific.  My profile is my email so it works with other chromebooks, Not sure what to look at next.

@Wami64

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

A system recovery completely erases any local files or settings and returns the computer to its original factory-shipped state.

  • If a hard reset does not resolve your issue OR your Chromebook shows the error message Chrome OS is missing or damaged, you might need to perform a system recovery. For detailed instructions go to Chromebook Help Center and search for Recover your Chromebook.

    Chrome OS is missing or damaged

  • If a system recovery still does not resolve the issue, contact HP support. To check the warranty of your laptop, go to HP Customer Support - Product Warranty Check.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
