Logged-in as local user, tried to enable Power On Authentication - getting same error.

Tested with local Administrator Account.

Same issue. Local user cannot be added to BIOS Domain.

Please be warned that once when I tried resetting all the security settings in BIOS and trying to set it up it bricked my machine with "New user" account created in preboot (and the password was obviously unknown to me) - this ended with MOBO replacement.

Always be sure that you have BIOS Admin account password and that the option to show the account on login screen is enabled.

Otherwise you will not be able to login to the machine even when you know the BIOS admin password (the Admin user will not be displayed - so you wouldn't be able to log in).

It's a shame that HP claims that their machines are so well protected and their tools in the best way are just not working.

AH, and do not bother contacting support in your country, because they know NOTHING about the HP Security tools, and when I told the guy about the error from screen he told me to.. contact Windows as this error is Windows PIN related (yeah, he just GOOGLED it - 0x8007054F).

Btw. Another wonderful tool (on paper) HP Sure Recover will fail and will never ever run again once your MOBO was replaced - as the replaced MOBOs are not having embedded Windows serial number.. so the only way to recover the machine is to use old classy recovery with USB. This is just piece of garbage.

From my past year experience with my last HP machine I will tell you - it will never be fixed and there is no Customer Support that will pick your problem. Support in Poland knows nothing about this problem and just ping-points me to MS and US support responds with that they don't support my region. And I expect it will be the same for most of you.. nobody wants to  even try to fix the problem and HP seems to not test their software with all the updates..
