HP ZBook Studio G5 Mobile Workstation

Dear Sir / Madam,

I recently encounted an issue where my credential for On-Power-Authentication including password and fingerprint are not working after I have changed my Microsoft Credentials.  I have activated the HP Client Security which allowed me to use the Microsoft credential (I use Microsoft Account as my Windows Account) to authenticate in On-Power-Authentication which enable me to automatically login to Windows after being authenticated in On-Power-Authentication.  After multiple lengthy conversations with your customer service representatives and email correspondence with Handson Su, Team Manager of Hong Kong Customer Relations, it is confirmed that your product - HP Client Security is designed NOT to synchronise the Windows credential to the On-Power-Authentication credential.  Specifically, If a user has activated the HP Client Security and subsequently changed the Windows Credentials, the credential for On-Power-Authentication will stop working immediately and the only solution is to replace the Main Board which costs over HKD15,000.  As advised by your customer service representatives after confirming with your lab test result which was referred to in Handson Su’s email, the HP Client Security is purposely designed to immediately lock the device after changing Windows credentials.  The user is expected to disable the HP Client Security before changing the Windows credentials.

To be honest, such design does not seem to be reasonable and the ONLY solution proposed by Handson Su is completely ridiculous.  You may check out the details in my case.

I would like to seek your official confirmation on the HP Client security features above.  Interestingly, Handson Su is not willing to provide the confirmation after multiple follow-ups.

I look forward to your reply.  In case any of the members of this forum had similar experience, please feel free to share your views and experiences.

Thank you very much
