Hi @Lazarow,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The HP Compaq 610 blinking orange light 6 times typically indicates a hardware failure, often related to the battery, power adapter, or motherboard. Since it doesn’t boot and stops at the LED blink, here’s a structured way to troubleshoot:

Step 1: Identify the Blink Code

  • 6 orange blinks usually point to a battery failure or power-related issue.
  • If the laptop is not turning on at all, it could also be a system board failure.

Step 2: Try a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect only the power adapter (leave the battery out).
  4. Try powering on.

Step 3: Test Battery and Adapter

  • If it powers on without the battery, the battery may be faulty.
  • If it still doesn’t power on:
    • Try a different compatible charger.
    • Check the DC jack for looseness or damage.

Step 4: Check for POST (Power-On Self-Test)

  • Do you hear any beeps or see any screen flicker?
  • If not, the issue may be with the motherboard, RAM, or CPU.

Step 5: Reseat RAM

  1. Remove the back panel.
  2. Take out the RAM sticks and reinsert them firmly.
  3. Try booting again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
