HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n011dx (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has stopped booting! It will power on, but the screen will not display anything. After a few seconds the CAPS LOCK light will blink slowly until I manually power off (Hold power button until shutoff).

Troubleshooting so far:

  • Power cycle (disconnect battery and AC power adapter, then hold power button for 15 seconds)
  • Disconnected battery and attempted to power on with only AC power adapter (Same result with CAPS LOCK light)
  • Switch out RAM
  • Try only one RAM slot at a time

I'm at sanity's end here. I would appreciate any suggestions or fixes. Thank you!

@skytutes Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support and we appreciate your patience.

That said, Note that specific patterns of long and short blinks along with long and short beeps (where applicable) identify errors during the startup process.
Newer computers have two-part blink sequences with different color lights to indicate specific errors and you may click here and troubleshoot on your own or get back to us with the details, and we'll help you decipher the cause of the failure and provide an apt solution.

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉
