Hi @abhirup2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP ENVY not turning on. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Power Connections
- Power Cable: Ensure that the power cable is firmly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Try using a different power outlet if possible.
- Power Adapter: If you have access to another compatible power adapter, try using it to rule out an issue with your current adapter.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect Power: Unplug the power cable and remove any connected peripherals (like USB devices or external monitors).
- Remove Battery (if applicable): If your HP ENVY has a removable battery, take it out.
- Hold Power Button: Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect Power: Reinsert the battery (if you removed it) and plug the power cable back in. Try turning on the laptop again.
3. Check for Indicator Lights
- Look for any LED lights on the laptop when you press the power button. These lights can provide clues about the status of the laptop (e.g., power light, charging light).
- If the lights blink or show a particular pattern, refer to the user manual or HP’s support site for diagnostic information.
4. Test with External Display
- Connect your HP ENVY to an external monitor or TV to check if the display might be the issue. Sometimes the laptop might be working, but the screen is not functioning.
5. Try a Different Power Source
- If you're using a laptop battery, try connecting the laptop directly to the power adapter without the battery (if removable). This can help determine if the battery is the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
