Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a laptop that works fine for a while, then it won't boot up.  With or with out the power cord plugged in.  Note: I have a new battery, new ac adapter.  When you plug in the power cord, you don't get a power light.  If you open up the case and unplug the battery, it will work, the power light comes on, the computer boots up.  If you connect the battery  back up, it will work.  Battery will charge, computer will run.  When I put the back on while it is running it will work for a while.   Then after turning on and off a few times, power light will not light up and we start this all over again.  Any ideas what is going on?

Note: It came to me for liquid damage.  Not a liquid spill, but that it was sitting in water.  When I opened it up, the battery was wet, no other sign of damage or water.  Computer was running find when testing.  Only seems to not boot after I put all the bottom screws in.
