Hi, please help me

I have

HP EliteBook 840 G2 and i need reset bios password

please help me with smc.bin file

because i have no contact with HP support, no mailanybody have mail to support HP or solution, i want reset my bios and i want smc.bin file

Welcome to the HP Support Community  @ProbREQ 

 

Then you will need to replace the BIOS chip or replace the system board.

 

No one here can provide the smc.bin file.

I need a SMC file for my Elitebook 840 to reset the BIOS password. How can i get it?

SORRY BUT NO ONE HERE CAN HELP ONLY HP CAN!!!!!

 

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

 

Just to note:

 

Do not try removing the RTC battery.  It will not remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC  will cause it to fail.

If it did not reset the DATE and TIME then you will be fine.

 

But you still need to contact HP.
