Hello
I buy used HP EliteBook 8770w Base Model Mobile Workstation and want to install new SSD drive and want to install windows 10 on it , I tried to access to bios for change boot option but it’s locked with administrator password , tried several ways but without anything , HP assistant mentioned that warranty ended and nothing to do
Did anyone have a solution to this case or default password for admin

Hi:
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.
That was the only way it could be done.
Most HP business notebooks including the one you have, do not generate system disabled codes.
Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.
HP issued this document recently...

The forum rules were amended last year, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.
Rule 4.d...
d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
