Hi, I have bought HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 Notebook PC but it is requesting for BIOS Password. I have tried contacting HP Support and it seems it requires the serial number of the laptop to submit the ticket. I have tried the serial number at the back of the laptop, comes back as not recognized.
How do i go and submit a ticket to HP and reset the BIOS password? Hi Moderators, I am not requesting the password here. I am not able to contact HP Support directly, HP doesn't even allow to submit request if the serial number is not recognized, that is frustrating and I can't see a reply button on this community too! it seems like making the life too difficult.
is there an email address i can reach out to HP support since my laptop serial number is not recognized by HP. PLEASE DON'T LOCK this request as i need solution! Thanks
Thanks for your help.

BIOS (and Power) passwords are encoded into the firmware of the motherboard and we have no access of any kind to that. Changing such a password requires completely replacing the motherboard with a new one that does NOT have a password encoded into the firmware -- and that usually costs a LOT more than simply replacing the computer.
I wish we could help you -- but we're not allowed to, since we have no way from here to verify ownership of any computer.
