I've an HP Elitebook 840 G2 (totally black pc)..with installed Windows 10 - laptop is fully updated.
Recently there was a Windows update and after it finished installing, I had to reboot the pc. - what I did..
However the laptop didn't get back up - after showing the Windows emblem, it mentioned to have an issue and started the problem resolver....there I choose the option to remove the last update...this took hours... than restarted and same issue... now choose to reload Windows 10....at first from the cloud.... again a restart, but same issue....now tried to reload Windows from local (apparantly from the disk...) ... again a restart, but still same issue.... tried the option to reset to the factory settings... no luck --
also tried to reinstall Windows 10 through an USB stick, but the laptop seems not to react on either one of the 3 USB-ports.(although I'm sure it was set to look at the USB ports when booting up, as I once 2 years ago used to load Windows that way onto the pc.) - but now it doesn react on a bootable USB-stick and keeps looping into the blue screen telleing me there's an issue, starting the recovery tool, with options that don't help me...)
I also to get into the BIOS to see how/if the boot sequence changed or so, but can't get into the BIOS as I need a password (what I don't have..) ... So also tried to restart with a from HP downloaded BIOS program, but as the USB-ports also don't accept that stick, no luck either..
Also tried to type a random password 3 times in order to get a ''checksum'' and from there try to get a password, but after 3 times I get into a screen with an ''online keyboard'' -- and no clue what to do here...
So I'm basically out of ideas for the moment .. but what i want is just to be able to restart the laptop and for now reinstall Windows 10 on it... but no clue how to proceed....
So in summary... I've an HP Elitebook 840 G2 that start up, but after a Windows update gets into a blue screen and after trying to establish the issue, gets to a page with recovery options -tried those as described above.
Tried to reinstall Windows by means of USB.. but no luck as the pc. seems not to react on the USB-ports/same story when tryng to reset the BIOS.
ps. I have NO serial nr. - the laptop doesn't have any nrs. on its backside or anywhere - so can't contact HP themselves as they request the SN.
