HP Recommended

An HP Elitebook 850 G3 failed to start last month. I got another HP Elitebook 850 G3 that works flawlessly. I took out its 8GB DDR4 SIMM and put it in the one that does not start and now I hear 3 long beeps and 2 short beeps. My understanding is that it means there is a memory error. I tried to reboot it in various ways  (regular restart, Win+B restart, Win+V restart) to no avail. Nothing on either the built-in display or the LED monitor connected to the laptop. 

Wonder if anyone could offer other things that I can try.
