Upgraded this laptop to Windows 11 about 8 weeks ago. About a week ago, it shut down when plugged in and would reboot only in safe mode.
The battery does not charge in safe mode and the date stamp sometimes is about a day earlier but not very far off. The time stamp resets once get into normal boot.. It intermittently boots in normal mode once unplugged for awhile and after a CMOS reset (502) error code screen flashes. It does not charge in normal mode either.
i have updated drivers. Cannot do all windows 11 updates as does not reboot properly for restart.
The battery report (powercfg) shows the battery as ok with no degradation but no charging since the initial shutdown event.
The laptop is about 3.5 years old and was not having any battery issues prior to this. Always kept battery charge for a few hours when unplugged.
I am not sure what to try next. Is this a BIOS or OS issue or a hardware issue (battery, CMOS, charging circuit)?
Never upgraded BIOS since purchase. Running Insyde F.18 dated May 2019
