Over the past 2 months, when I close my laptop or manually put it into sleep mode, the screen will turn off but the computer will not fully enter sleep mode. If I then re-open my laptop, I am unable to get the screen to turn on. One time I could actually hear that the computer was still running as there were sound effects every time I would click but in order to get the screen to come on I need to hold the power button down and restart every time. I have tried updating my drivers and looking through settings but nothing is working. I've also been trying to contact HP but every time they say look on the forums but I can only find the issue from people who upgraded to Win 10 and their solutions don't help. This issue is appearing after over a year and a half of buying this laptop and never having this problem, please help!

Thanks for the response! I found that uninstalling the display driver, restarting, reinstalling the driver, and then performing a hard reset solved my issue. Many of the other options for solutions had already been done, such as turning off hybrid sleep, so my problem must have been the bad driver sticking with the system because I haden't done a hard reset after reinstalling the driver. Thanks again!
