HP Recommended

My significant other has an HP Envy Laptop 17t-cr000 that does not boot. You press the power button and the light on the power button comes on for a few seconds but no display, no beep. Then the caps lock led comes on for a second and then both the powerbutton light and cap lock led go dark. Charging light on the side of the laptop is on when the power adapter is plugged-in.

 

Have tried the following:

1. Tried a brand new power adapter charger without the battery on both charging ports. No change.

2. Tried a brand new power adapter charger  with the old battery on both charging ports. No change.

3. Tried holding down the power button for 15 seconds and 30 seconds with the power adapter connected and not.

 

Looking for suggestions on what to do next. Would hate to think this laptop is only a couple years old and is now a paperweight.
