Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Won't Boot.  Black Screen and blinking Caps Lock key.  Workaround that seems to work is:

1. Remove power cord and disconnect internal Battery.

2. Press and hold On/Off button for 30 sec.

3. Reconnect power cord.

4. Restart computer.

5. Reconnect Internal Battery.

6. Never turn off - only "Sleep" mode.

Update: Flashed BIOS to F.41.  Problem solved!

@Riff-Ron Welcome to HP Community!

Note that specific patterns of long and short blinks along with long and short beeps (where applicable) identify errors during the startup process.
Newer computers have two-part blink sequences with different color lights to indicate specific errors and you may click here and troubleshoot on your own.

Flashed the BIOS from F.34 to F.41.  Problem went away!

@Riff-Ron That's awesome, flashing or updating the BIOS is a step that's included in the article I shared, but I could only suggest that step if i knew the sequence of the lights blinking on your device, if you ever have such issues in the future, and I hope you don't, but if you do, you know what we need to get you the precise solution! 😉

either way, I'm happy for you and I hope you have an awesome day, ahead.
