My HP Envy Laptop would always unexpectedly restart and get super hot whenever I close the lid to put it to sleep, or put it to sleep via the start menu and close the lid. It would get really hot a few minutes after closing the lid, and when I open the lid it would just show the Windows boot spinning circle (but really slowed down), or it would show a blue screen that says that my PC did not shut down properly (with options to restart or go to advanced options). Event viewer shows an unexpected shutdown. This started happening after I did a clean install of Windows 11 on it. I did my 1st clean install a few weeks ago and started experiencing this problem. I then did another clean install yesterday expecting the problem to go away, but it doesn't. Can someone help me with this?

Here are the screenshots. I would like to reiterate that the overheating occurs after the system is put to sleep or when the lid has been closed. It seems that it happens not in a booted state (or in this weird restart state)

As a workaround, I would prevent the sleep mode in <power options>, otherwise you could damage your notebook.

Did you have the same overheating problem in sleep mode before when working with Windows 10 ?
Kind regards
