HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R4AV)

I’ve tried all the HP troubleshooting options, but my laptop will not turn on. When I first tried to boot up my computer the power button slowly flashed. The power cord light stays on when connected. When trying to boot up I apparently turned off my computer and now nothing. There’s no beep, no led light on the power button, or fan activity when I hit the power button. I ran a computer reset yesterday, because I’ve had some issues with my screen not working. I had to connect a monitor to see. Anyways, now I can’t see anything and it won’t power up. I’m out of warranty. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, please advise.

Hi @McHam11

Welcome to the HP support community.

It sounds like you're dealing with a pretty frustrating issue where your HP ENVY x360 laptop (model 15-eu0000) won't power on. Given that the power button flashes, but the laptop won’t boot up or show any signs of activity now (no fan, no LEDs, no display), it seems like there could be a problem with either the laptop's hardware or power supply.Since you've already tried the standard troubleshooting steps, let's go through some additional steps to see if we can bring your laptop back to life.

1. Hard Reset (Power Reset)

  1. Power off the laptop completely (if it's still plugged in, unplug the power cable).
  2. Remove any external devices (USB drives, external monitors, SD cards, etc.) connected to the laptop.
  3. Press and hold the power button for at least 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power in the system.
  4. After releasing the power button, plug the power cable back in (without the battery if removable).
  5. Try to turn it on again by pressing the power button.

2. Test Without the Battery

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Leave the laptop unplugged for 5-10 minutes.
  3. After that time, plug the power cord back in and try turning the laptop on.

3. Check the Power Adapter and Charging Port

  1. Inspect the power adapter for any visible damage.
  2. Check the charging port on the laptop for any debris or signs of wear that might cause an intermittent connection.
  3. If you have access to a spare charger, try that to rule out any issues with the adapter.

4. Attempt to Boot with External Monitor

  • Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor again and press the necessary keyboard shortcut to switch displays (often Fn + F4 or Fn + F8, depending on your model).
  • If the laptop is outputting to the external monitor, you might be able to see what's happening and troubleshoot from there.

5. Check for Signs of Life

  • Any LED lights flashing on the keyboard or around the power button.
  • Fan noise or slight vibrations (which can indicate power is getting to the system).
  • Hard drive activity, such as a slight sound or indicator light flashing.

6. BIOS Recovery (Hard Reset)

  1. Unplug the laptop from the power adapter.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B (simultaneously) and then press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Release the power button, but keep holding the Windows key + B.
  4. The laptop may try to enter BIOS recovery mode or display a message indicating it is recovering from a failure.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

At one point the only way I could use my laptop was with an external monitor. Unfortunately, now it's not working at all. I've tried all the steps you recommended, as well as replaced the battery. Nothing worked. My research is suggesting it could be the motherboard. At this point I'm considering on purchasing a new laptop, but I'd prefer to fix the one I have...if possible. What are your additional thoughts?
