Hi,
My HP Envy x360 all of a sudden has issues when booting up. It will either allow me to enter my password and load windows as normal but then it will not allow me to do or select anything, or instead it wont load past the password login after entering my password and it just keeps saying welcome, after my password has been entered. This started 3 days ago, last night when i turned it on it worked as normal, but today it is back to having the mentioned issues on starting up. I have owned it for +/- 2years and never had any issue until now.
Any help or advice please would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
If possible try to disconnect the computer from the internet while performing the steps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
No, no changes were made by myself at least, there may well have been an update that went on in the background that I have never noticed or missed? It seems to be an intermitting fault. The first time it happened I tried for an hour to get it to work, tried the hard reset and other things I had read on here that sorted issues for some, scanning drivers etc. I gave up and left the laptop off for a few hours and came back to it then it started first time no issues.
So I then checked all the latest updates were installed etc, done various scans of drivers, virus etc etc and no issues there at all. Worked normal for 24-48hrs then the same thing happened again just yesterday, tried for 30 mins to get it to work with no joy, then left it a few hours and when I turned it back on it started first time?
The first time it happened was when I was switching the laptop on, but when it happened yesterday the laptop was on already and I was using it at the time and the screen just went blank. I was thinking it was a start-up issue, so I was leaving the laptop on for as long as I could when it was working because I was never sure it would start up again the following day, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all now.
