3VU72UAR#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My last HP x360 got stolen, police didn't find it. I bought new one - 3VU72UAR#ABA - on 2019-02-05 and set BIOS password so when it would happen next time, at least thief wouldn't be able to use it.

Problem: I wanted to update bios and found out that I forgot my own password I set after I bought this laptop over year ago...

2 years ago I worked as internal first line IT support and remember that I could unlock few devices by contacting HP support and sending an invoice + device info.

Would you be able to help me with this one? I really like your laptop and would like to be safe and free from bugs.

--------------------------

HP moderator closed my topic, asking me to contact HP Support in my region, but when I enter my laptop data, only single message is visible "This product is no longer supported by HP, you could find solution on HP Support site". So I cannot expect help in here and also there.

Who could help me then?

--------------------------

Best regards,

Tomasz

HP policies have changes as they no longer send folks the files needed to reset a BIOS password.

For BIOS or power-on password resets, read this HP thread: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.

If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard for BIOS password resets, you could take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- but we are unable to assist in that.
