HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fh0000 (77W46AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy x360 2-in-1 15-fh0000 restarts randomly without any blue screen. I updated the BIOS firmware, ran hardware and software tests with HP tools which end up passing with no issues mentioned. I enabled blue screens from the settings, but they never appear when this error occurs, the notebook simply restarts.
It also usually freezes without allowing any interaction, and I have to restart it using the power button.

Hi @AlejoValenzuela,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for explaining the issue clearly. Random restarts and freezes without a blue screen on your HP Envy x360 15-fh0000 usually point to either power management conflicts, driver instability, or hardware-level triggers that don’t generate a stop code.

Here’s a structured approach to resolve this:

1. Check Event Viewer for Clues

  • Press Win + X → Event ViewerWindows Logs > System.
  • Look for Critical or Kernel-Power (Event ID 41) entries around the restart time.
  • If you see Kernel-Power without a bugcheck, it’s likely a sudden power loss or firmware issue.

2. Disable Automatic Restart

You already enabled BSOD display, but confirm:

  • Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Startup and Recovery.
  • Uncheck Automatically restart. This ensures any hidden stop errors will show.

3. Update AMD/Intel Chipset & Graphics Drivers

Even if HP tools passed, Windows Update or BIOS updates can leave drivers mismatched.

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

  • Restart → Press EscF2 for HP Diagnostics.
  • Run System Extensive Test (not just quick). This rules out intermittent RAM or SSD issues.

5. Check Power Settings

  • In Control Panel > Power Options, select Balanced.
  • Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
  • Under Processor power management, set Minimum processor state to 5% and Maximum to 100%.
  • Disable Fast Startup in Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
