If your HP Envy x360 is not powering on and you only see a brief blink of the white light when you press the power button, it could indicate a power-related issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

  1. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
    • Disconnect the laptop from the power source.
    • If the battery is removable, remove it.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the battery (if removable) and plug in the power source.
    • Try turning on the laptop.
  2. Check the Power Adapter:

    • Ensure that the power adapter is working correctly. You can test it by using it on another compatible device or trying a different power outlet.
  3. Check for Physical Damage:

    • Inspect the power button for any physical damage. Ensure that it is not stuck or obstructed.
  4. Reset BIOS/UEFI:

    • If the laptop fails to turn on, it might be helpful to reset the BIOS/UEFI settings. You can refer to your laptop's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  5. Perform a System Component Check:

    • HP laptops often come with a built-in system component check tool. You can access it by pressing the ESC key during startup and selecting "System Diagnostics." Run tests for components like the battery and hard drive.
  6. Reseat RAM and Storage:

    • If you're comfortable with hardware, you can try reseating the RAM modules and storage drive. Ensure the laptop is turned off and disconnected from the power source before attempting this.
  7. Contact HP Support:

    • If the laptop is still under warranty or if you're unable to resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact HP support. They can provide further assistance, and if necessary, arrange for service or repairs.
  8. Check for Indicator Lights:

    • If there are any other indicator lights (besides the power button), observe their behavior. These lights might provide additional information about the issue.
  9. Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:

    • Visit the HP support website and check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available for your specific model. Updating the BIOS/UEFI can sometimes address power-related issues.

If none of the above steps resolves the problem, it's likely a hardware issue, and professional assistance may be required. In such cases, reaching out to HP support or taking the laptop to an authorized service center would be the next steps.
