I have a 14-d005au Notebook and would like to boot Linux from a USB. I have previously done this on my desktop without much trouble but the boot settings in the BIOS doesn't seem to have an option to boot from USB, my BIOS is a Hewlett-Packard F.07.

Hi:

In order to boot from an external boot source, have the flash drive plugged into your PC's USB 2 port.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

If you don't see a USB flash drive listed, go into the BIOS (ESC>F10) and enable legacy mode, then save the settings and exit, then go into the F9 boot options menu again.
