I have a 14-d005au Notebook and would like to boot Linux from a USB. I have previously done this on my desktop without much trouble but the boot settings in the BIOS doesn't seem to have an option to boot from USB, my BIOS is a Hewlett-Packard F.07.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to make sure that legacy mode is enabled and secure boot is disabled in the BIOS.

Then there should be two sets of bootable devices in the F9 boot options menu -- Legacy and EFI.

Boot from the Legacy USB device.
