I have a 14-d005au Notebook and would like to boot Linux from a USB. I have previously done this on my desktop without much trouble but the boot settings in the BIOS doesn't seem to have an option to boot from USB, my BIOS is a Hewlett-Packard F.07.

Hi:

Normally you have the USB flash drive in one of your PC's USB2 ports.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

If the flash drive still doesn't show up, you may have to enable Legacy mode and disable Secure boot in the BIOS.
