For my College year, I got this HP Laptop, And I was excited, But then the storage was 32gb, Now I wasn't really excited after seeing that is took 28gb, so know I had 4gb left, I went on Amazon to buy a 1TB HDD, And a HDD Cable Adapter for it, The day after I set it up, The laptop wont let me on windows, Its saying "SMART Hard Disk Error", And I used the System Diagnostics so many times, Its because the HDD Is at 32 Celsius, 80 - 89 Farenghight, So I had to buy a new HP Laptop and It worked, So now I'm trying to fix this HP Laptop for my little brother, So please tell me anything for me to fix this, Its a living nightmare.

Hi @RaulCoto,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing some challenges with the hard disk on your HP Notebook. The "SMART Hard Disk Error" typically indicates a problem with the health of the hard drive. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.
- Check HDD Connections: Make sure that the HDD and the cable adapter are properly connected. Sometimes, loose connections can cause errors.
- Run Diagnostics: You mentioned using System Diagnostics, but make sure you run a thorough diagnostic test specifically for the hard drive. This can help identify any specific issues with the drive.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the HDD for any physical damage. If the hard drive has been mishandled or damaged during installation, it may cause errors.
- Update BIOS/UEFI: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI is up to date. Manufacturers often release updates to improve system stability, including compatibility with new hardware.
- Replace the SATA Cable: If the issue persists, try using a different SATA cable. Faulty cables can sometimes lead to connection issues.
- Check Power Supply: Ensure that the hard drive is receiving sufficient power. If the power supply is insufficient, it might cause errors. Also, make sure the power connector on the hard drive is secure.
- Update Device Drivers: Make sure that all your device drivers are up to date, including those related to storage controllers and hard drives.
- Backup Data: If possible, try to back up any important data from the hard drive before attempting any further fixes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
