HP Mini 2140 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello!

I have this 16 year-old HP Mini 2140 Notebook PC product with me and I've been using it with no issues regarding it's power for years until mid-2022.

The issue is the laptop no longer seems to proceed to it's booting process after powering it on.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Plug your charger into your laptop (regardless of whether the battery is attached or not, it creates the same result anyway) and into a power outlet.
  2. Turn it on using the power button or wait for it to start automatically since my product powers on when it detects power from it's charger port.
  3. Expect the touchpad and power buttons to light up. After a few seconds (those aforementioned lights are still on), the charger port should blink a color orange like 3-5 times (I didn't count, but I assume it's the same between that range) then it will shut itself down.
  4. Then it will repeat the same cycle of what I stated in Step #3.

I was expecting the uppercase detector and wireless connectivity button to light up altogether with the touchpad and power button but it never does.

This was persisting for a few months already. I just want to use my laptop without any problems. I'm aware of the device being older than I expected but I'm pretty sure it's not the only issue. I have seen several blogs on the internet that the charger might've started becoming faulty or has already been defective (weird, mine worked for at least 5 years) but that's probably just their best guess.

Thank You! I hope I gave you guys enough context and information to help me analyze and resolve the issues with this device.
