For a few months now, my laptop's screen has been freezing, then fading to white or a color distortion with vertcal lines. Sometimes when I press hard on the outer edges of the screen (side/top/bottom), it's fixed for a while. Now, that isn't working anymore and I can only get it to stop if I press hard behind the bottom of the screen and keep the pressure. I don't know how to solve this.

Good day. Thank you for being a part of the HP community. I will be super glad to assist you here.
This is a clear hardware issue with the display or its cabling.
Is there a display when you connect it to an external screen like a TV via an HDMI cable?
Anyway the computer needs to be repaired. I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.
Thank you and have a blessed week ahead.
