PAVILION 17-e153ca
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

We have four HP Pavilion 17-e153ca Laptops. One of them doesnt boot up.

Here are the symptoms:

1.  when i connect the power cable, the LED beside the power slot glows white for 2 seconds and turns amber/red, stays same for 10 seconds and then turns back to white light.

2. Next, when i  press the power button, the LED light on power button flashes white for 0.5 seconds and turns off. I didnt hear fan turn on sound / CAPS lock LED. The laptop just dont start / boot.

Troubleshooting Steps i took:

1. Took the battery of affected Laptop and connected it to a second laptop and it worked fine. So, i concluded that its not the battery problem.

2. Changed the power adaptors, let it charge for few hours, but the Laptop didnt boot up.

3. Removed RAMs and HardDrive, connected them back. Didnt fix any.

4. Sprayed compressed air into the fan vents. That didnt help either.

can anyone help me solve this?

Thank you.

@AD28,

It looks like you were interacting with @Flower_Bud, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.

As I understand the Product is out of warranty, In this scenario, I would suggest you could try to check what happens when you try to turn on the PC just with the power adapter connected? Does the PC boot.

Alternatively, you can also try to use a different power adapter and check if the PC boots or not.

If nothing helps, then the only option would be to contact HP phone support so that they can provide you with out of warranty service options. Where the Unit will be picked up for repair and In the service center all the hardware components will be tested and repaired. So once you receive the computer back it should be up and running.

Please follow the link from the previous post to contact our HP phone support for further assistance.

I'm sure they should be able to go ahead and address your issue, If you have any trouble contacting them, let me know I'll do my best to help you.

You've been great to work with and it has been a genuine pleasure interacting with you.

Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂
